Nestled in the northern part of Kasese District, Ibanda is a charming village at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. Agri Evolve has established a vibrant buying center here, supporting dedicated farmers who primarily cultivate coffee on 1 to 2 acres.
Our enthusiastic Field Officers work with local farmers, sharing best practices to enhance yields. By focusing on selectively harvesting fully ripe cherries, farmers can secure better prices.
During harvest season, the sight of ripe coffee cherries being picked is delightful. Under the guidance of our Agri Partner, Salastial Masereka, cherries are weighed, assessed for quality, and farmers receive immediate cash payment. They are then transported to our Nyabirongo coffee station for floating, grading, and sun-drying.
Ibanda’s coffee boasts an impressive SCA score of 84, highlighting its sweet, fruity flavours and excellent mouthfeel. Here’s to a bright future for coffee in Ibanda!
