Elvis Adolfo Castillo is an inspiring small producer who passionately cultivates coffee on his 3.3-hectare farm, Finca 'El Matazano, located in the vibrant community of El Matazano in Montecillos. As the youngest of three brothers, he grew up surrounded by the love and dedication for coffee, a legacy instilled by his father. In 2015, Elvis proudly graduated from the esteemed 5-star cupper course offered by the Honduran Coffee Institute (IHCAFE), driven by a desire to elevate the quality of coffee his father had lovingly produced.
Inheriting El Matazano from his father, Elvis continues a tradition of environmentally friendly farming. He nurtures the land with a diverse agroforestry system that includes fruit and timber trees alongside his coffee plants. He places great importance on protecting the rich wildlife that inhabits his farm, ensuring a harmonious ecosystem.
His honey processed Catimor and Lempira varietals deliver a wonderfully smooth cup characterised by a delightful, subtle acidity. Each sip reveals comforting notes of raspberry and lemon zest, making for an enriching coffee experience. Elvis’s commitment to quality and sustainability shines through every cup, inviting you to savour the essence of his beloved El Matazano.
